Phoenix Houses of Mid-Atlantic seeks an experienced and motivated individual to join its dynamic team as a Military Outreach Liaison in our Arlington, Virginia facility!  This is an exciting opportunity in which the right individual will work closely with the Manager and Regional Business Development Director to strategically develop annual sales objectives and marketing plans for the territories assigned. Specifically, s/he will focus on retaining existing referrals, developing new referral sources and increasing consumer awareness in order to increase census. Additionally, s/he must be able to evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of the plans, and make adjustments as indicated and appropriate.

This role will require a keen understanding of Phoenix House’s treatment program, philosophy, and admission process to better serve those persons, families, and communities burdened by addiction. A working knowledge of various aspects of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is preferred. Travel is required, and the ability to work independently is essential. The Liaison must reside within Northern Virginia/DC area, and dedicate 20-30 hours per week to the position. Great opportunity to make your stamp with a purpose.

 Military OneSource Wounded Warrior Resources Specialty Consultant 

The Military OneSource Wounded Warrior Resources Specialty Consultant provides wounded, injured and ill service members, veterans, their families and caregivers with a single point of contact to address issues in healthcare, benefits or facilities as mandated by congress.  The MOSWWRSC will coordinate with the military services and Veteran Affairs (VA) via telephone and e-mail to provide assistance with resources, referrals, consultation and general assistance navigating the plethora of military, VA and community services available to callers seeking assistance. Although this position is tied to Arlington, VA, it is a telework/ virtual position 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Data entry and case management, case tracking and customer follow-up
  • Document in multiple databases all support provided to all callers contacting the call center
  • Monitor all research and referrals, and additional materials sent to callers
  • Research and identify resources for and maintain a Wounded Warrior Resources clearinghouse that encompasses information regarding military and VA services, programs, policies and legislation supporting Wounded Warriors and their families, to include the wounded members of the National Guard and Reserve and their families
  • Work with a large, dynamic information bases that cross federal, state and private boundaries, including input from DoD, Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor and other federal agencies
  • Follow all DoD protocols in place to respond to all Wounded Warrior inquires involving a reports of deficiencies
  • Based on business needs, may be asked to take on special projects as required

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, rehabilitation, or other human services field required.

Relevant Work Experience:   A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in social/human services field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of military and Veteran Affairs systems and programs
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and multi-task in a fast-paced, high change environment
  • Diverse experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, or mental health services
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills with some experience in a computer based case management systems
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills with some experience in a computer based case management systems
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military experience, Military spouse or Military VA civilian employee experience
  • Knowledge of military culture and EAP industry
  • 1.5 years of experience in a call center environment

This contract requires U.S. Citizenship.
