    As a part-time, On-Call Utility Mailer, you’ll work in our Production and Manufacturing plant and perform a range of duties essential to getting The Washington Post on the streets and into readers’ hands: feeding advertising material into production machinery, lifting and stacking newspaper bundles; and more. It’s a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour work environment that demands dedication, focus, a commitment to producing a top-notch paper. Schedule includes 4-12 hour shifts, up to 5 shifts per week and could include weekends; $14.10/hr.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Assist with production duties as required during peak periods
    • Lift/stack newspaper bundles with/without forklifts
    • Operate heavy production machinery
    • Follow appropriate safety procedures

    Requirements include:

    –Willingness to work 4-12 hour shifts and up to five shifts per week (including some weekends;Hours vary based upon business needs. )

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Track record of reliable attendance and workplace accuracy
    • Access to reliable transportation to our production plant in Springfield, VA
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to work well in an industrial, high-noise environment
    • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven workplace
    • Ability to follow Personal Protection Equipment policies

Automotive and Industry Field Service Engineers

Our client is a world leader in the design and assembly of testing equipment the serves the Automotive, Home Appliance and Medical Device industries.  Their values are based on: Creativity, Customer Orientation and Knowledge Management.

 Mobility and Industry Business Units serve the main US and Mexican manufacturer of Automotive and Home Appliances components.  Provide testing and assembly equipment to the main Tier 1 and OEM in the above mentioned industries sectors. 

Candidate will be responsible for providing scheduled and unscheduled services directly to customer plants (20 US locations) and successfully achieve the company’s mission.  Candidate must be available for US and Italian based training. Their US office is located in College Park, MD.

The ideal candidate:

  • Ability to read/comprehend internal documents such hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schemes, procedure manuals, operation and maintenance instructions
  • Good knowledge of Mechanics, Electronics and Eletrotechnics
  • Ability to be trained on hydraulic, pneumatic and basic robotic application
  • Basic PC and PLC programming
  • Good knowledge of remote networking software i.e. Teamviewer, Cisco, etc
  • Willingness to work in a cultural and linguistic variegate environment
  • Available to travel up to 60% of the time and with short notice for unscheduled requests (will travel to Italy at least once per year to complete/refresh training)
  • Good written and verbal communication; English is required. Knowledge of Italian/Spanish is a plus
  • Basic manual skills for mechanical, electrical and hydraulic interventions
  • Ability to build, maintain and grow relationships
  • Must have BA in Field Service Engineering/Automotive Mechanics or related fields
  • Experience Required: 0-2 years (recent college grads encouraged to apply). Prefer to develop and train within own environment.

Responsibilities

  • Able to work independently and directly with customer base to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance requests.
  • Machine installation and debug at customer sites
  • Work remotely to perform software upgrades and modification
  • Troubleshoot issues and repair machine failures
  • Organize and perform scheduled service activities such as machine calibration, mechanical and electrical adjustment (i.e. filter, valves and other component substitution)
  • Ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage and organize inventory
  • Organize independently or under Project Management suggestions, periodic visits to customer sites to propose additional service packages

 Gross Yearly Salary:  $45K to $53K
