Qualifications:
– Proven home improvement experience
– Full complement of own tools
– Fluent with computers and smart phones, (web browsing, Excel, email, various phone apps)

– Must have strong English verbal and written communication skills. You will be required to communicate directly with homeowners.

Duties:
Craftsman will perform preventive maintenance/handyman tasks at client’s home, manage vendors onsite, and propose, estimate, and complete home improvement projects. Craftsman will also work on major remodeling projects (additions, basements, kitchens).
– Preventive Maintenance (residential)
– General Handyman (light plumbing, electrical, fine carpentry)
– Remodeling/Carpentry (framing, trim, cabinets, doors, windows, built-ins)
– Estimating
– Project Management (material procurement, schedule subs, track budgets)
– Daily paperwork and client correspondence.
Compensation: Pay is competitive hourly rate plus quarterly bonuses. Benefits include paid holidays and vacation, work van, cell phone, tool allowance. This is a full-time position, not 1099.

 We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to become part of the team at our community in the Ballston area of Arlington VA. MUST have HVAC/Universal CFC certification and experience and have access to Arlington VA within 30 minutes for on-call rotation to be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing maintenance requests to include electrical, plumbing and appliance and HVAC repairs, carpentry and painting.
  • Handling apartment turnover preparation and scheduled maintenance projects.
  • Assisting with overall maintenance operations when needed.
  • On-call maintenance service rotation plus weekend and weather related work and emergency support as needed.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 3 years residential maintenance experience plus HVAC/Universal CFC certification and experience required.
  • Medium/heavy work requiring prolonged/repeated standing, walking, climbing and kneeling and working at varying degrees of heights; lifting 100lbs max, frequent lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Able to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Strong service, communication and time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Access to property within 30 minutes for on-call maintenance service.

Compensation and Available Benefits:

  • Pay rate range of $17.00-$18.50/hour, based on experience.

Dominion is Hiring GROUNDMEN/ LINESMEN

The successful candidate will be exposed to the many facets of construction, operation and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System.  If you enjoy the variety of challenging work outside of an office and want to develop communication, technical and mechanical abilities, the Groundman position may be an excellent starting point for a career with Dominion.   More specifically, the successful candidate will develop skills to prepare themselves for potential advancement in Line-work, Substation, Design or Dispatch areas.  As a Groundman, the majority of the work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and is considered “heavy labor”. Specific Groundman functions include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Providing tools, materials and supplies to journeyman linemen
  • Ensuring safety rules and regulations are observed on the worksite
  • Driving trucks and ensuring they are properly stocked and maintained
  • Preparing the equipment and worksite for effective completion of assignments
  • Operating various types of equipment used in the construction process (diggers, aerial devices, etc.)

The selected candidate must be 18 years of age at the time of application, must obtain a Class A CDL learner’s permit within 1 month of employment and a CDL prior to 6 months of employment. Due to weight limits on equipment, weight restriction of 290 pounds applies.

We have multiple vacancies in Alexandria, Springfield, Fairfax, Herndon, Warrenton, Fredericksburg, Leesburg and Woodbridge District offices.

The starting pay rate will be $23.38 an hour with an additional 10% per hour Wage Supplement for Alexandria, Springfield, Fairfax & Herndon for a total of $25.71 per hour and a 5% per hour Wage Supplement for Leesburg & Woodbridge for a total of $ $24.54 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 Work outdoors year-round as part of a small team of up to 8 crew members in tree planting, pruning and maintenance projects

 Implement logistics and field operations for tree planting and care projects and programs including tree and materials ordering, un/loading, delivering, site prep, planting, pruning, watering, etc.

 Assist with the maintenance of hand tools, vehicles, and lawn care equipment.

 Reports to Crew Chief

 Other duties as assigned, including emergency snow removal.
