Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre is currently seeking a part-time Box Office Associate.

Responsibilities include day to day Box Office duties such as assisting subscribers and single ticket buyers with exchanges, directions, purchases, donations and questions.

Position also participates in annual subscription campaign, complimentary ticket requests and group sales. Friendly phone manner, excellent computer and customer service skills, and detailed research skills are required. Previous computerized ticketing experience preferred, especially Tessitura.

Appx.15 hours weekly- requires working either Saturday or Sunday: as early as 11:30am to as late as 8:30, and one weekday- flexible with weekday  hours  as early as 9:30am to as late as 8:30 pm

 PBS NewsHour is seeking a passionate Production Assistant who’s responsible for providing a diverse range of writing, research, editing, production, and tracking services to support the work of the PBS NewsHour. You will prepare news material and news feeds for compilation and produce compilations exercising independent judgment. Other tasks include researching and fulfilling video requests for PBS NewsHour producers, acquiring footage and creating footage, and assisting in covering breaking news and in writing for broadcast news summary. College degree in journalism, communications, political science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Introductory experience with broadcast and online journalism, including writing, editing, and shooting preferred. Experience with nonlinear editing programs is desirable.

PBS NewsHour is in search of a Tape Producer that will execute quality control over all video airing on the PBS NewsHour, ensuring all elements are managed properly on the playout server, and will additionally produce and edit videos on a variety of topics for NewsHour and its digital platforms.

 Primary responsibilities include all video airing is available, accurate, properly ordered and meets technical and editorial standards, and Editing pre-taped discussions to ensure they have right heads, tails and pad, follow naming conventions to be appropriately checked in for air. Further, the Tape Producer will generate story ideas, research interviews, coordinate shoots, acquire, screen and log footage, as well as produce and edit video on a variety of subjects for numerous digital platforms.

 Qualified applicants have knowledge in national and international news production management for daily, 24/7 or weekly television and digital outlets, including breaking news and feature story telling, knowledge in the field and in studio production. The applicant will have knowledge of broadcast video production, shooting experience, the ability to use content management systems and web publishing, the ability to edit at high level in Avid and Adobe Premiere, experience in Avid iNews, and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people using diplomacy, tact and discretion.

This individual will participate in all phases of television production for local programming, includes research, development, and production of “WETA Arts” program and “Around Town” segments, as well as assisting on production of other WETA local documentaries and interstitial programming.

 Primary responsibilities include coordinating location and studio shoots, conducting interviews and producing short field stories, and assisting in producing local programs and special projects focusing on activities and interests in the WETA-TV viewing area. Further, the Associate Producer will research, gather, and organize footage and photos for local productions, supervise editing sessions, fill out production reports and payment requests, and participate in additional special projects as assigned.

 Qualified applicants have a college degree in communications, film, English or related field, and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in television production and postproduction. Applicants will also have knowledge of field and studio television production techniques, the ability to accurately handle large volumes of information, be familiar with non-linear video editing, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

 WETA, DC’s public broadcasting station, is seeking a Director for the Student Reporting Labs. Student Reporting Labs (SRL) is an innovative video journalism program in 100 schools around the country. The SRL Director oversees operations, activities and events to ensure highest standards, and positive experiences, success and growth for teachers, students and PBS stations in the rapidly expanding program.

 The Director will oversee day-to-day operations, mentor and coach Lab managers, teachers, schools, and stations to ensure program success. Additionally, they will create editorial calendars and other workflow processes to fulfill grant requirements in full compliance with budgets and contracts, including internships, equipment stipends, mentor contracts and payments. Further, they will be the lead planner, executor for SRL Student Academy and Teacher Professional Development Conferences, write monthly newsletters, Teacher of the Month, Station of the Month, Ask the Alumni and other content for SRL site and other platforms, as well as oversee social platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat.

Qualified applicants should have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing multifaceted education and digital media projects, a college degree, or equivalent amount of combined experience and education. They should demonstrate the ability to successfully oversee large-scale, national projects, and grant fulfillment, possess excellent organizational, project planning and time management skills with careful attention to detail, and have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. The Director should be proficient in image editing software, HTML/CSS and have the proven ability to write/edit and produce interactive content.
