This position is responsible for building and maintaining Georgetown Advancement’s web presence, including various websites, web pages, multimedia efforts, social media, special projects and software and SaaS migrations, CMS platforms, email marketing tools, and others. This role provides technical expertise to best facilitate Advancement initiatives that may leverage web technologies.

 

The Web Editor works closely with colleagues across Advancement and occasionally the university to deliver creative, innovative, user friendly, and graphically pleasing web solutions to Georgetown’s constituents. The Web Editor must be an expert in front-­end web design and development, cross- ­site data integrations, client­-side scripting for functionality and design customization. As many of Advancement’s tools have non-­technical end users, the Web Editor must exhibit excellent communication, problem solving, prioritizing, teamwork, collegiality, and ability to educate staff at their level on technical issues.

 

his position serves many functions, from access ­control administrator, special projects technical team member, analytics compiler and analyst, technical consultant, and email marketing manager. The Web Editor is responsible for processing email marketing requests from a large number of Advancement staff via a request and ticketing portal. After a request is submitted, the Web Editor builds email jobs with the supplied information, including text content and graphics, constructs data queries for recipient lists, tests email properties, confirms copy editing with Communications staff, and schedules emails based on priority and need. As such, this position is experienced in email marketing platforms and best practices.

 

This position requires extensive knowledge of web design and development, email marketing, access ­control principles, and project management.

 

Specific skills include: HTML, XHTML, CSS JavaScript, JSon, jQuery Photoshop Drupal CMS Responsive web design Cross-­client/cross-­device HTM
