We are looking for an energetic individual who can support the VP of Government Affairs and Public Policy, as well as the Director of Community Affairs. In addition to providing high quality administrative and organizational support you will have the opportunity to support the CareFirst corporate giving process. As an Executive Assistant your responsibilities will include calendaring, using Microsoft Outlook, preparing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, preparing meeting minutes and correspondence, working through simple and complex Excel spreadsheets, coordinating travel and meeting logistics, and screen, triage and handle phone calls and visitors as appropriate.
As support to the corporate giving process you will have the opportunity to learn the MicroEdge Gifts contribution system and Cvent system. You will generate and mail approval and decline letters for sponsorship requests and follow up with Board members and other stakeholders for Cvent invitations. You will provide assistance to corporate wide initiatives which may include weekend event staffing, display preparation, staffing event desks, support the United Way, Associate Walk campaigns and coordinate with corporate facilities to execute events.
To be successful in this position a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting C level executive management is required. In addition you must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and have the proven ability to prepare executive level presentations and work with simple and complex spreadsheets. Also required for this position are excellent problem solving skills, the ability to act independently and manage multiple priorities, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and associates within the organization. The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is paramount. This department handles a large workload volume that requires efficiency and professionalism as well as the need for work schedule flexibility.
Preferred: A Bachelor’s Degree or some college level courses, experience in the Health Insurance/Healthcare industry, experience with the state and federal legislature are desirable.
