SUMMARY: The Sr. Specialist, FEPOC Digital Communications will proactively support the development and implementation of customer-facing digital communications with a particular emphasis on content development, look and feel, and the user interface. This position will mainly focus on the editorial content and the continued development of BlueWeb. The individual will work closely with staff and management throughout the organization to ensure that all web-based communications goals are clearly defined and met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Duties and Responsibilities 1. Proven ability to generate content through writing for various audiences and produce basic graphic design images. Serves as primary online content contributor and editor, with responsibility for ensuring that digital all communications meet high standards of editorial quality, accuracy, relevance, and readability. Knowledgeable of web content management systems, site taxonomy, workflows, user experience and basic coding. 2. Proactively contribute to the development and maintenance of FEPOC digital communications channels, ensure communications align with corporate communications strategy and align with technology roadmaps. Ability to track and report project milestones, communication effectiveness and measure data to report key outcomes. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on changes and status updates. 3. Assist with managing the change processes for all sections of FEPOC customer-facing web pages. Ability to copy edit and ensure writing is consistent with the FEP Operations Center® (FEPOC) style guide, and in compliance with legal and branding regulations. 4. Participate in all aspects of website design, including development of requirements, work plans, functional and graphic design, testing, working with implementation teams, content management, vendor selection and usability testing. 5. Other tasks related to the development, implementation and maintenance of FEPOC internal and customer-facing web sites and communication objectives, as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Required • A college degree in communications, journalism or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of professional writing experience with an emphasis in digital communications. • Demonstrated proficiency in writing compelling marketing content for a wide variety of media and content type (newsletters, brochures, web pages, videos, presentations, emails, proposals, etc.) • A proven track record of superb written and oral communications; excellent proofreading and editing skills, creativity and a passion for creating engaging and relevant web content. • A proven ability to write with varying tone and the ability to translate technical and industry jargon into copy that is of interest to the reader. • A keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously; sometimes under pressure and often with tight deadlines. • Ability to establish strong relationships across departments, and an understanding of client needs, the consumer experience, marketing strategy and operational capabilities. • Must be professional, organized, enthusiastic and a team player who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. Abilities/Skills Must have the ability to work independently to manage multiple projects while keeping all team members informed of the project’s progress and aware of potential problems. Must be able to think strategically and help others “think outside the box” to develop web functionality across FEPOC. The ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical management and staff is essential. The successful candidate must also possess: • Experience with managing digital media, including web-based video and audio files • Experience with web content management systems such as, LifeRay, Sharepoint, Drupal, etc. • Experience formatting content for the web and graphic design • Familiarity with MS Project Manager or other project management software • Familiarity of taxonomy, web content organization, and user experience • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Power Point
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position successfully.
