We are seeking an IT Technical Manager to join our team supporting our Securities and Exchange Commission client located in Washington, DC.

The IT Technical Manager will-

  • Provision, configure and troubleshoot environments and platforms to support work on applications throughout the lifecycle.
  • Coordinate post production operational activities and manage ongoing product changes, including changes to commercial, custom, and government products.
  • Provision, configure and troubleshoot environments and platforms to support work on applications throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide oversight to manual or automated process operations, data collection and processing, exceptions handling, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage system changes in workflow, deployment of new products and components, patches, security fixes, upgrades, operating systems, databases, data loads, infrastructure updates, and any modifications to an environment or hosted platform that requires change control.
  • Create and maintain documentation support including installation documents and other associated technical documents.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and planning, and assess emerging technical requirements.
  • Review product change requests and identify potential issues, conflicts or problems.

Our client wants our staff on site providing support at the SEC facility in Washington, DC 2 – 3 days a week, but the other days you can work at home! This position is immediately available contingent upon passing a Federal background investigation for a Public Trust clearance.

Minimum Required Experience:

In addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of MS Office Suite, and demonstrated success in client support, the following are required-

  •  5 years of experience in Information Technology required
  • Knowledge and experience with IT Service Management
  • Self-starter that does not require extensive guidance
  • Proactive communication skills with multi-site located team
  • Demonstrated problem solving and structured analysis skills
  • Experience in provisioning, configuring and troubleshooting environments and platforms to support work on applications throughout the lifecycle
  • Proficient in presentation and facilitation skills
  • Managing system changes in workflow, deployment of new products and components, patches, security fixes, upgrades, operating systems, databases, data loads, infrastructure updates, and any modifications to an environment or hosted platform that requires change control
  • Creating and maintaining documentation support including installation documents and other associated technical documents
  • Conducting capacity analysis and planning, and assessing emerging technical requirements
  • Coordinating post production operational activities and manage ongoing product changes, including changes to commercial, custom, and government products
  • Review product change requests and identify potential issues, conflicts or problems
  • Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood

 

Desired Skills:

Current SEC Public Trust is a huge plus.

  • ITIL or any industry related certifications.
  • SW development/testing skills a plus.
  • Highly desirable experience working with standing up and maintaining multi-server environment on variable platforms.
  • Tier II or III support experience also desirable.
  • Knowledge of Federal SDLCs.
  • Fluent with Federal IT security protocols.
  • Implementing COTS/GOTS SW in a Federal Government environment a plus.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining IT infrastructure in a Federal Government environment highly desirable.
  • Familiar with one or all of the following: Windows server 2008/ 2012,Unix / Linux, Java, Tomcat, Apache, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Sequel Server, RedHat, and CISCO products.

 Our IT Technical Manager candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an SEC Public Trust clearance. Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident that has lived at least 3 years in the U.S. Active SEC Public Trust clearance is a plus.

 Physical Requirements:

 Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.

  • Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.

 Work Environment:

  •  Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area.
  • The noise level in this environment is low to moderate.
